Discharge //
You have been evaluated in the emergency department today for a kidney stone. The stone may pass on its own and will be expelled in the urine. Please use the strainer as directed to strain your urine until your stone passes. Please read the information provided to you on discharge. [XXX] Please take the prescribed medication to help the kidney stone pass. You have also been prescribed medication for pain and nausea. Please follow up with your primary care physician within two days. If you do not have a primary doctor, you can call your insurance company to find one. If you do not have insurance, you can look for one on this of local clinics or go to the finance/registration department for more assistance. Return to the Emergency Department if you experience worsening pain, fever, painful urination, blood in urine, weakness, chest pain, difficulty breathing or any other concerning symptoms.
