Discharge //
Your child has been evaluated in the emergency department today. Their evaluation was not suggestive of any emergent condition requiring medical intervention at this time. However, some abdominal problems make take more time to appear. Therefore, it is important for you to watch for any new symptoms or worsening of the current condition. Please return in 12 hours for a re-check of your child's abdomen or earlier if your child's abdominal pain gets worse. Please follow up with your pediatrician within one to two days. If you do not have a Pediatrician, you can walk into the pediatric clinic on the scheduled clinic days to establish a doctor for you child. Return to the Emergency Department immediately if your child has worsening abdominal pain, persistent fevers of 100.4F or greater, recurrent vomiting, blood in vomit, blood in stool, dark tarry stool, or any other concerning symptoms.
