Discharge //
Your child was evaluated in the emergency department today for ear pain. Their physical exam suggests that they have an ear infection, called otitis media. Your child was prescribed antibiotics. You should give tylenol or motrin as needed using the directions provided to you and give plenty of fluids. Please follow up with your pediatrician within one to two days. If you do not have a Pediatrician, you can walk into the pediatric clinic on the scheduled clinic days to establish a doctor for you child. Return to the Emergency Department if your child experiences worsening ear pain, higher fevers, headache, recurrent vomiting, lethargy, or any other concerning symptoms.
